Hi Tim,
Keeping the glove soft can be good and there used to be lots of old remedies. Today gloves have come a long way and they are usually flexible enough. A good idea though is, when you’re not using it – like in between games or the off-season, put a teeball or tennis ball in it and hold the glove together with a lacky band or some string. You should also ensure that the little finger and thumb are together when you do this to make sure you shape the glove for maximum pocket/space to catch the ball.
